SLM announces Orlando route via Guyana.

Suriname Airways has applied to the US Department of Transportation to operate a weekly flight from Paramaribo to Orlando with a stop over at CJIA.

According to a letter to the DOT dated March 17th 2015, the airline’s proposed “service to Orlando will serve Georgetown, Guyana, as the intermediate point. 3. Surinam Airways desires to commence operations on or about July 1, 2015, during the months of July, August, and September. Initially, the service will be one roundtrip per week. If the service is financially viable, Surinam Airways would continue the service and increase frequencies, serve Sanford and/or Orlando, and/or serve other intermediate points.”

The airline currently operates two flights a week to Miami via CJIA.
