KYSO to be half time band for Brampton game

KYSO ( sister school to AlphaMax in Canada) has been invited by the organizers of the Brampton A’s games to be the halftime entertainment for the Brampton A’s home game; Brampton A's vs. Mississauga Power. The game takes place at the Powerade Centre, Brampton, ON Fri, Nov 15, 2013.

Kendrum Music Academy also known as Kendrum Afro-Caribbean Music Academy provides training in general musicianship to all ages and specialized training in a variety of musical instruments. These include the African-Caribbean Percussion instruments ; The steel pans, djumbe’ (hand drum) guitar, piano, keyboards, clarinet, flute and saxophone. They also provide live entertainment for various functions, as soloists, bands, small orchestras or customized ensembles to fit your specific needs.

 Kendrum Youth Steel Orchestra (KYSO) facebookpage it has done numerous successful performances in our community and further a field. Since its formation in 2007 KYSO has performed at Mississauga Multicultural Festival ; “Carassauga“ , Brampton Multicultural Festival “Carabram”  and several other community events in and around the GTA.

In 2010 at the invitation Guyana folk Festival Committee, KYSO travelled to the New York and performed at the Guyana Folk Festival USA Awards Ceremony, Library hangout  and Family Fun day. The next year as a direct result of KYSO’s impressive performance in NY, the band was invited to participate in the Boston Carnival in Boston Massachusetts .
